Meet Heather Peterson
Heather PetersonRealtor®/Broker
Welcome and thank you for browsing through my website. Here you will find many resources to help you navigate the real estate process and become more familiar with the Cape Fear area.
Born and raised right here in Wilmington, NC, I have a true passion for my hometown. I can truthfully say, after extensive national and international traveling, Wilmington is the greatest place to live. Nothing can compare to warm summer nights in June and July, when the Confederate Jasmine smells its sweetest, or festivals held year round in the Historic District on the River Walk. Live music, fine dining, plantations in full bloom, driving through neighborhoods and seeing children safely playing are just a few of my favorite things about the Wilmington, NC area.
Wilmington has so much to offer anyone with a desire to do more than exist in the place they live. Here you will find art and history museums, galleries, fine and casual dining, golfing, fishing, even hiking. Learn to surf at Carolina or Wrightsville Beach, wind surf at Buzzard’s Bay, and kayak the salt marshes. Spend a chilly or sometimes warm evening watching the Wrightsville and Carolina Beach Christmas Flotillas, or visit the historic homes all decked out for Christmas time candlelight tours. Spend a Friday night listening to live Jazz at Airlie Gardens or shop in one of our many fine shopping centers and boutiques in the city. Wilmington literally has it all.
From the first settlers at Old Brunswick Town, to Moore’s Creek Revolutionary War battlegrounds, and the Civil War Blockade at Ft. Fisher, Wilmington is located near many historically significant landmarks and small towns. Every taste, dream, and desire can be found right here where the river meets the sea and the waters sparkle their brightest for coastal lovers. Find an abundant life here. My family and I have.
My husband William, my daughter Callie, and I have enjoyed living and playing in and around Wilmington. Callie is an honor student at Myrtle Grove Christian School, William is retired from General Electric, we are active members of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church., and Callie and I are members of the Red Hat Society.
Coming from a long line of entrepreneurs, I grew up working in my Daddy’s paint store, my Grandmother’s dress shop, and whole selling dresses out of the back of my Mama’s car. When I did not work for family, I worked in an art gallery, other fine clothing stores in the area, and as an interior decorator by referral only.
I began my career as a Realtor® in the boom market of 2005, later I earned my NC Broker’s license. I am certified as an e-Pro Marketing Specialist, graduate of the Howard Brinton Listing Specialist University, and the Floyd Wickman Star listing program. I follow a yearly schedule of continuing education including ethics training and updates. I am a member of the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors®, North Carolina Association of Realtors®, and the National Association of Realtor®.
Working with buyers and sellers, helping to achieve their goals, fits right into the path my life has taken. I find true joy in the pride of ownership buyers have when they receive the keys to their new home or when sellers finally move on to the next phase of their life. Selling and buying a home is one of the largest financial transactions anyone will ever make. Even more important, is the emotional bond many have to their homes. Memories are made or dreams are built within the walls of a house, making it a home. My goal is to give the best I have to offer, through education and experience, to all of my clients. In fact, I want to build life long relationships that last a lifetime. I am much more than a real estate agent, I am a community resource, Wilmington area expert, and most of all, a friend.
